Posthumous Hall of Fame

At the September 14th, 1992 meeting of the North Star League, the membership voted unanimously for the league to have its own Hall of Fame. Six members were selected and awards were first presented during the 1993 season.

2005 & 2006 Inductees

2005

Don Mitchell of Howard Lake
Don was a strong armed shortstop whose fielding was well noted
around the league. After World War II Don re-started Howard Lake
baseball and was an excellent manager who helped develop many
good ball players.

Gerard Rohl of Buffalo
Gerard was a catcher for 23 years. He was an excellent hitter
always hitting over .300, but many times he was over .400 in
average. Gerard was an automatic draft choice to go to the state
tournament if his team didn’t make it and was voted unto the All-Star
Teams every year he played.

Jerry Litfin of Delano
Jerry played second base for Delano for 12 seasons. Jerry was an
excellent fielder and a lifetime .300 hitter, who had many clutch hits
for the A’s when his team needed it.

Dean Gayner of Dassel
Dean played first base for Dassel for 13 years. Was a lifetime .300
hitter an excellent fielder. Teammates claim because of his fielding
he made Dassel’s infield better. After his baseball career Dean
continued to support local baseball in any way he could.

Karl Petzke of Rockford
Karl was an excellent left fielder whose speed never let any balls go
into the gaps for extra base hits. Karl was a lifetime .300 hitter who
hit for power. Karl was a great team player who pitched when his
team was short of arms.

Arnold Anderson of Kingston
Arnold played for 13 years and was an all purpose player. He could play any position his team needed him to play. Arnold hit over .300 every year with a lot of .400 batting averages as well.

Doug Stokes of Monticello
Doug was a multi-talented player who beside pitching could play any fielding position. Doug played for Monticello for 12 years and managed the Monti team in his last six years. Doug was a great hitter and had a rubber arm that allowed him to pitch as many innings as his team needed, proving that Doug was a great team player.

Mark Lilledahl of Loretto
Doug played for many years in the center field for Loretto. Mark had a great arm for throwing base runners out. Mark was a lifetime .300 hitter who won the league batting championship in 1967 with a .447.
