Posthumous Hall of Fame

At the September 14th, 1992 meeting of the North Star League, the membership voted unanimously for the league to have its own Hall of Fame. Six members were selected and awards were first presented during the 1993 season.

Clinton Dahlberg of Howard Lake
Played pro ball for 17 years. One of the most dangerous left-handed hitters in the league. Very involved with youth programs in the area.

Mike Dressen of Watertown
Played for and managed amateur baseball for over 25 years. Hit the decisive home run to help win the Class A championship for Watertown in 1951. Coached high school and youth baseball for many years.

Ollie Schumacher of St Michael
Played amateur ball for over 25 years. Tremendous fielding pitcher and good hitter. Known for pitching endurance as he pitched 18 innings in the playoffs with the game ending in a tie.

Gordie Link of Monticello
A solid left handed hitter who played left field and was also known as one of the best knuckle ball catchers in the area. Very involved with youth baseball in the area.

Rich Ditty of Delano
Rich comes from a baseball-orientated family as his father, along with brothers and sister, all played baseball. Rich played and managed the Delano ball team for many years along with putting many hours in to improving and maintaining the ball park. Rich also served as a league and regional officer.

Paul Fortin of Hamel
One of the "founding fathers" of town team baseball in Hamel. Paul was always there to support the team financially as well as supplying them with baseball equipment made Paul a valuable asset to his team. Field acquisition to field improvements to field preparation made Paul an indispensable pioneer in his communities program.

Art Hagen of Dassel-Cokato
Art was one of the finest defensive catchers in the league, whose timely hitting and bunting helped the D-C team win many ball games. Art was also valuable to his team working behind the scene in scheduling games and working on the field.

Jerry Klaers of Loretto
Jerry played shortstop for 18 years and managed the Loretto ball club for 18 years. Jerry's financial support and leadership helped keep a winning tradition in Loretto. Jerry served as league vice-president for many years. Without question, Jerry Klaers is presently Mr. Baseball in Loretto.
